It has a powerful bass and brilliant mid and high notes. Compared to their previous album I'd like to say that Brent Smith matured somewhat in terms of not overdoing the ballads like in the remake of "Simple Man" where at times he seemed to get carried away and overdo it to a point where it sounded tacky! I also found that this CD was recorded and mixed well, so that it will get the best out of your stereo equipment. Having co-written several songs on LEAVE A WHISPER, it was certainly easy enough for Shinedown to work with Battaglia, and in addition to producing US AND THEM, he also had a hand in cowriting 10 of the album’s 13 songs, so it’s clear that he and the band found a groove and stuck with it. Recorded in Jacksonville, Florida and Sanford, Florida, the album had three singles, two of which, 'Save Me' and 'I Dare You,' were used as themes for WWE pay-per-view events No Mercy 2005 and WrestleMania 22. To me leadsinger Brent Smith is mostly responsable for the mood and sound changes throughout the album. (Shinedown album) Us and Them is the second studio album by American rock band Shinedown, released on October 4, 2005. For me the album's sound marks a nice fusion of "Crossover" and "Old School Metal" with a range that will include everything between "Soundgarden" and "Pink Cream 69 (also PC69)". "Us And Them" was my first Shinedown album and I was pleasantly surprised! I found bits and pieces from sounds of other bands that I like to listen to mixed well and executed brilliantly. Buy it here or better yet, go and buy it now at your local FYE, Best Buy, or Wal-Mart. Buy Us and Them AND Leave a Whisper! My preference is Us and Them but a lot of my friends like Leave a Whisper. Trust me, you wont regret it for a second. If they come in a 200 to 300 mile radius of my house, I'll be there to see them perform! If you get a chance, go and see them! Tour dates can be viewed on their website You will NEVER forget the first time you see them live. I went to Atlanta to see them again on the Sno-Core tour where they co-headlined with Seether and that concert confirmed my love for them. I went to see them open for 3 Doors Down in Columbus, GA a few months ago and they were incredible! The day after the concert I went and bought Leave a Whisper and then I had to painstakingly wait for 3 months for the best X-mas present EVER! Us and Them has literally not come out of my CD player since X-mas and will stay there for a long time from now. In interviews about the album, Hale noted that the album was heavier than their previous album, but was significantly closer to the sound of them live. This is the most underrated band I have ever known. A different version of the song "Here's to Us" featuring multiple guests including Slash was included as a bonus track on the reissue version of the standard and deluxe version of the album in 2013. A deluxe edition of the album was also released containing three bonus tracks. Four of the album's songs were previously released on the sneak-preview EP Hello, It's Mz. The song "Here's to Us" was performed on the US television show, Glee, with clean lyrics. The song "Freak Like Me" was the band's first single to reach number one on the Mainstream Rock chart. The first single and video from the album "Love Bites " won a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance. The album was produced by Howard Benson, who also produced the band's self-titled debut album. is the second studio album by American rock band Halestorm.
